Melville is a lovely, safe and clean neighborhood located in the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg. The arty and student-like reputation of the area is a reflection of our community. You will find a mix of university students and academics, artists, media professionals and environmental activists. People of all colours of life join the community of Melville. The University of Witwatersrand, University of Johannesburg, the Central Business District, the South African Broadcasting Corporation SABC, Milpark Hospital are all within 10 minutes from Melville. It's one of the few neighborhoods that is situated in a community lined with local shops, restaurants and nightlife rather than the more modern shopping malls. 

Within walking distance you'll be on 7th Street, with some restaurants, bars, cafes, specialty bookstore, vintage store and the 27 Boxes. For nature outings you will find the Melville Koppies, Zoo lake and the Jo’burg Botanical gardens a nature reserve where you can find many bird and plant species. It’s also the place for hiking, biking and running and provide awesome views of the city. Melville is a perfect starting point for touring all of the local historical attractions, like: Constitutional Court, Apartheid Museum, Soweto, Maboneng Precinct, the Botanical Gardens, the Zoo and much more……... 

For the sporty visitors you will find the Parkview Golf Course, tennis courts, squash courts and Melville is also a good starting point for running and walking. The nearest Park-Run (every Saturday at 08.00) you will find at DELTA Park.
